Abstract: Our understanding of star formation largely comes from very nearby star forming regions, which may not be indicative of the star formation process across the Milky Way. ALMA allows us to look further into our Galaxy, specifically at the Carina Nebula, a chaotic environment where many gigantic, young O stars sit near the molecular clouds that seed star formation. This unique environment is markedly different from nearby star forming regions, and is an exciting natural laboratory to study star formation.
